Frockafellas (and a Frocktopus) at the City News Afternoon Tea |
Here at Frocktober Canberra, we've been hearing the goss about your amazing frock events and have to say that we are simply frockin' impressed with the way that Canberra has gotten behind the cause! Emails are pouring in from all over the Nation's Capital telling us of the way that groups of friends, organisations and workplaces are getting together and giving their all to raise funds and awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). Why not join some of these amazing people at our Finale Party presented by the award winning Flint Dining Room, this Sunday 31 October and enjoy a garden party in the sun with the opportunity to bid on some incredible auction items, including a collage of memorabilia, personally made and donated by Dawn Fraser! Tickets are available from the Frock Fringe!
Frocktober Canberra will be giving a prize to the workplace that raises the most funds as an organisation. This prize will be announced at the Finale Party.
Here's a taster of what's happening around the Capital...
The City News afternoon tea held on Sunday raised over $1000 dollars on the weekend and those amazing gals and guys aren't finished yet. You can bid on the gorgeous Enchante Frock worn by some of Canberra's top Frockettes including Chairwoman Amy Moon at our launch as well as Frocktober Ambassadors Sentaor Kate Lundy and Danielle Post of Win News. Bid on it here!

The Australian Institute of Health and Welfare held a bake sale with Frockettes and Frockafellas getting their frock on for some baked goodness. We did hear that it was interupted by an unexpected fire drill meaning that some of the brave gents who had donned a frock got rather more exposure than they were anticipating. We are trying to secure photograph evidence of their bravery.
DFAT's Domestic Legal Branch is flying it's Frocktober colours proudly. Each Friday, Mrs Helen B provides a morning tea where people donate to participate. They are also receiving donations from a Loraine Lea Linen party host who is donating a percentage of each sale as well as 15% of the total party sales. There's a rumour floating around that if they manage to raise $1000 over the month, a rather spectacular historical frock may make an appearance this Friday. You can donate to make this happen here.
St Edmund's College, Manuka held a morning tea and bake sale which, when combined with sales of OCRF merchandise has raised over $2000.00 so far. The college was simply stunned by the generosity shown by the school community and we were too!
